In recent years,the protection mode of historical districts in our country has been transformed.It was changed from tourism and business-oriented to protected community building ones.Historical districts with community building-oriented mode hold the principle of life authenticity,which ensure the indigenous rate and the protection of original ways of life.It also continuates the accumulation of the human environment in one community to a maximum extent.This kind of mode is unusal in our country,but is more mature in Japan which is similar to China.Searching the related papers by key words on the CNKI we can find out that the "community building" as the starting point for the study of the protection of historical districts is not much.This paper takes community building-oriented mode of historical district protection as a breakthrough point,makes comparison of China and Japan,and makes comparison of the developing process of protection between the historical district leading by community building of the two countries,enriches the intrinsic similar topic in which uses the techniques of single line comparison.In this paper,by comparing the differences between China and Japan in the community building-oriented of historical districts? protection from the leading in history,working mechanism,specific methods,combined with specific cases.And then doing some research on the theory and practice of the protection of the historic blocks in the two communities,paying special attention on the advantages of Japan in the protection mode and the deficiencies of the current model in china.Combining with the historical district protection status in China,this paper tries to explore suitable way for China's national conditions,to create a community building-oriented historical district protection work mechanism and specific means,in order to provide reference and thoughts for the protection work in our country the historic district.
