Study On The Concept Content And Cognizance Of Urban Notable Trees

The trees in the city is the main resource of city landscape and ecological construction of green trees,in improving and maintaining the city ecological environment,natural landscape and harmonious architectural landscape,prominent geographical features and other aspects of enormous effect,is becoming more and more important,but also face due to lack of propaganda and protection more and more vulnerable to the threat of sufficient condition.With the continuous the development of China's city of ecological civilization,to create various types such as "ecological city","garden city","forest city","livable city" model title to promote the development of city greening initiatives which usually very fruitful,green coverage,green rate,green space per capita,afforestation rate and other indicators to measure the level of city greening,assessment of indicators of individual trees at present only trees protection rate.However,trees are scarce resources,especially in densely populated urban areas is even more difficult to see,such as Shanghai City,there are 1588 trees,an average of about 4km2 is an old tree.In addition to the trees outside the city,there are many eye-catching trees,or great individual,or special tree,or rich colors,or rare species,or with a legendary story,although they are not as old trees,famous wood brilliance,but it will surprise you,causing you to think,to arouse your memory,They have special value.Learning from foreign qualitative analysis and nomination criteria,this study introduced the concept of "notable trees" and explained its connotation.The purpose was to expand the scope of urban trees protection,and promote urban residents more rational understanding and appreciation of trees,furthermore,encourage them actively participate in and promote urban forest construction.Combining with our national condition,the notable trees can be defined as the urban trees with high historical and cultural connotation and aesthetic value,or with the features such as large size,beautiful shape,important or eye-catching position,rare species,public concern and favorite etc.;and the main city area of Hefei city was selected as the scope of the study to make an attempt on the notable trees identification.The results demonstrated that:(1)The evaluation of index system and identification methods were established.The qualitative indicators were selected as historical witness and social culture,while the 5 first level of quantitative indicators were selected as tree age and vitality,tree weight,tree species,site location,and aesthetic value,and 12 secondary quantitative indicators were selected as tree height,DBH,crown width,color and so on;(2)Totally 112 notable trees were identified as notable trees in the main urban area in Hefei city,belonging to 23 species,23 genera and 18 families.The number was more than five times the registered ancient and famous trees,which can be considered an effective complement to the ancient and famous trees;(3)Among the identified notable trees,there were some differences in the characteristics such as tree species distribution,tree age structure,DBH distribution,spatial distribution,evergreen deciduous ratio and so on.It provided a new idea and suggestion on maintaining urban ecological balance and biodiversity,expanding the protection and research of the individual resources of the trees in the city.
