Previously, the problem of sustainable development in China’s transportation structure is prominent,as the transportation industry occupies a large proportion of tertiary industry energy consumption.Under the background of China’s national effort in improving transportation efficiency and quality, the optimization of transportation structure is an effective means to reduce the energy intensity of China’s transportation industry. However,China’s economic development is very uneven, and each region may be in a different stage of transportation. The optimization of traditional transport structures does not fully consider regional differences.Focusing on this major issue, this paper studies the optimization of the transport structure from the perspective of the region. The main contents are as follows:(1)Considering that China’s current regional division is mainly based on economic indicators, with less consideration for spatial adjacency, this paper has improved the dynamic clustering algorithm to reclassify China’s transport areas, ensuring that all regions have similar transport and economic structures. It lays the foundation for optimizing the transportation structure with the region as the research object.(2)Based on regional division, the Granger causality test using LA-VAR model is extended to quantitatively analyze the correlation between transport and economy in each region.According to the transport theory, the status quo of different related regional transport developments is divided into coordinated and growth.Types and conservative types,a comprehensive review of the internal relations between regional transport and economy. The results show that each area is in a different stage of transportation, providing theoretical support for the optimization of the regional transport structure.(3)On the basis of qualitative analysis of the status quo of transportation development in each region, based on the weighted constraint extension of the three-phase DEA model(Data Envelopment Model),from the energy input and capital input, setting different input weight constraints for different types of regions,Get the input redundancy cost for each mode of transportation. Finally, with the objective of minimizing the overall input redundancy of all modes of transportation, with the reduction of energy intensity and the transport capabilities of each transport mode as constraints,a specific plan for the optimization of transport structures in various regions was obtained, reflecting the diversity of each region.Compared with the transportation optimization plans of regions under no-weight constraints, the adjustment of the transportation volume in the conservative regions was increased by 5%in the transportation structure adjustment plan based on the weight constraints, reflecting the high degree of transportation during the optimization of the transportation structure. The region bears a greater role in reducing the intensity of energy consumption, while the less-transported regions are affected by the efficiency of road transport investment, and the adjustment of the highway traffic volume in this type of region is reduced by 6%,which indicates that the transport structure under the weight constraints is more applicable.
