The priority development of the conventional public transportation system is an in-evitable requirement for alleviating traffic congestion and ensuring the sustainable develop-ment of the city. With the continuous increase of urban floating population and the acceler-ation of urbanization,it has increased the importance of its function and role in meeting the traffic needs of urban residents and migrants. This thesis first uses Beijing as an example to build a model for evaluating the effi-ciency of conventional public transport systems using data envelopment analysis. From the perspective of infrastructure construction,an evaluation index model was constructed to e-valuate and analyze the changes in the operating efficiency of Beijing's conventional bus system, and to estimate the space where the operating efficiency of the conventional bus system can be improved. The results show that only in 2009,the operating efficiency of Beijing's conventional public transport system reached both scale and technical efficiency. In 2007,the operating efficiency of Beijing's conventional public transport system reached only technical efficiency. The amount of redundancy is large, and there is still much room for improvement in output.Further, based on the evaluation results, relevant improvement measures are proposed to provide a reference for how to improve the operating efficiency of conventional public transport systems in the future.Secondly, based on the efficiency evaluation model of the conventional public trans-portation system, this thesis establishes a simulation model of the conventional public trans-portation system.According to the location of the station and the form of the platform, the bus stations are classified, and the linear bus station located downstream of the intersection is selected as the research object.Through the actual investigation and sampling of the site, the ?2 test method was used to statistically test the distribution of vehicle arrival and stop times.According to the statistical results, the M/M/c queuing model based on queuing the-ory is constructed for the bus in and out of the peak period, and the calculation method of the capacity of this kind of station is proposed. The expression of the queuing indicator is given by transforming the site capacity into the service rate in the queuing model.Through numerical experiments, the effects of vehicle arrival, stop time, berth and green letter ratio on the steady-state average waiting time of the system are analyzed. Then use the microscopic traffic simulation software VISSIM to establish the simulation model, select the simulation parameters and carry out the simulation experiment. The simulation results are in agreement with the theoretical values, which indicates that the model has strong practical significance. Finally, according to the research results of the queuing model, the bus station is simulat-ed and optimized by increasing the parking space, controlling the stopping time and reducing the line stop.By analyzing the average delay time of the optimized vehicle, the improve-ment of the bus station setting and service quality is improved, and the traffic capacity of the bus station is improved,so that the operation efficiency of the conventional bus system is improved.
