The Research Of "Endless" Construction Technique In Jiangnan Gardens

There are three main aspects in the research and discussion of Chinese traditional gardens nowadays: the historical textual criticism,the aesthetic research,and the design method.As a comprehensive art of time and space,gardens are rich in space,experience,vision,artistic conception and many other aspects.This thesis focuses on the combination of landscape aesthetics research and design techniques.It will be based on ancient painting theory,garden theory and contemporary scholars’ landscape research works.The author has come up with four ways of the endless experience in the elegant art,which are synaesthesia,contemplation,movement and view with time changes from the research of the traditional art such as poetry,painting,appreciation,drama,etc.The author has identified four ways of the endless: cascading,shielding,twists and randomness from the latter three experiences,and will analyze the construction techniques of the endless in Jiangnan gardens from these four aspects.The endless is both means and results for the construction of the Jiangnan gardens.We find that the cascading makes people feel far-reaching,the shielding makes people feel limitless,the twists makes people feel fascinated,and the random" makes people feel unpredictable from the experience and analysis of real space creation in Jiangnan gardens.The comprehensive utilization of the construction techniques makes Jiangnan gardens quiet and endless,so that people can reach the realm of forgetting things and forgetting myself in the small world.
