Research On The Recluse Spaces In Literati Gardens

Ancient Chinese literati were active in the historical stage because of their noble temperament and character which live in the slit but not imbrued.However,due to the resriction of the feudal system,literati were doomed to be unable to obtain personal independence and spiritual freedom in the political officialdom.Therefore,since the emergence of reclusive thought,a large number of literati chose to live in seclusion.With the enrichment of the thought of recluse,the literati’s recluse activity has shifted from the mountain to the secluded nest in the city.The close relationship between the literati and the garden has been studied by many scholars,including the influence of the hermit thought on the literati garden.There are two main reasons for choosing "secluded" space as the topic.First of all,the thought of recluse originated from Confucianism,Taoism and Zen Buddhism,and the creation of garden art is the real reproduction of the thought of recluse by the literati with good literary accomplishment and moral accomplishment,and "recluse" is basic characteristic.Secondly,since the emergence of the Wei and Jin Dynasties,with the improvement of the ideological system of recluse and the progress of technology,literati have enhanced and enriched the quantity and quality of literati gardens through the artistic activities of garden building,which formed and developed in the Tang and Song Dynasties,and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.With the literati garden gradually forming a complete system,we can better explore the influence of the thought of seclusion on the literati camp garden.Starting from the original intention of the literati’s garden activities,this paper discusses the profound influence of the hermit thought on the literati’s Garden Idea and design techniques,and analyzes the philosophical origin and performance characteristics of the "hermit" space emotion in the garden.There are six chapters in this paper.The first chapter explains and discusses the predecessors’ research results on the thoughts of hermitage and the literati gardens.The second and third chapters,as the basic research,sort out and study the development system of recluse thought and literati garden,and analyze and summarize the personality spirit of literati under the influence of recluse thought and the characteristics of camp garden activities.The fourth and fifth chapters,supplemented by phenomenological and typological theories,analyze and discuss the hermitage characteristics of various elements in literati gardens,and categorize and clarify three types of "hermitage" Spaces,which are: cave heaven and earth,exquisite fantasy and broken mirror.And the spatial emotion and design techniques of the three are specifically typed and pictorial.The sixth chapter analyzes the operation and translation of "seclusion" space in literati gardens by contemporary architects,and explains that the translation of garden space needs to be given the language of The Times.The study of "seclusion" space is not only helpful for us to analyze and inherit the deep cultural meaning of the traditional literati space,but also to alleviate or even solve the problems of the simplification and programming of contemporary urban and architectural space.Standing in the literati perspective,with natural landscape infiltration architecture,and the ancient for the new.
