Traditional residences are the crystallization of the wisdom of the working people for thousands of years. They are the accumulation of excellent architectural techniques and are valuable treasures for gaining useful architectural experience.Under the background of global energy shortages and climate warming,it is of great practical significance to further tap the excellent ventilation experience in traditional residential buildings to reduce energy consumption in modern buildings. The application of proper natural ventilation strategies can not only reduce energy consumption, but also help to create a more comfortable and healthy living environment. In response to the hot and humid climatic environment,Zhejiang Province has adopted a lot of ventilation measures. This study will explore and summarize the natural ventilation strategies of traditional residential houses in the region.First of all, through on-the-spot research on the areas where several traditional residences in Zhejiang Province are relatively intact,a more comprehensive understanding of the status quo of traditional residences in Zhejiang is achieved, and summarized the excellent ventilation experience contained therein. The L-shaped patio Yard Jinghetang,a representative representative of the new town of Huzhou City, was selected as the research object, and on-site measurements were taken to draw the architectural drawings of the dwellings;the on-site measurement method was used to conduct indoor and outdoor environment of Jinghetang in summer. The measurements, including indoor and outdoor temperatures, relative humidity, wind speed, and radiation temperature on the wall surface of the residential house, were used to initially analyze the ventilation conditions of the building. Then,a CFD simulation study was conducted on Jinghetang,a traditional residence.A physical model was established and Airpak software was used to simulate the indoor flow field distribution under wind pressure-dominated conditions. The simulation results of temperature, humidity and wind speed were compared with measured data to verify the accuracy of the model and the effectiveness of the simulation method.By using the variable method, the effects of the location of openings, outdoor wind speed, and the existence of waist shading on the indoor environment in traditional dwellings were compared. The results show that the closer the opening location is to the main ventilation room, the more fluent the ventilation path is,the more conducive to indoor ventilation; As far as the courtyard is concerned, the improvement of the outdoor wind speed has no obvious effect on the indoor wind environment.Under the prevailing wind pressure conditions, the presence of the waist shading in the traditional residential houses is conducive to the ventilation of the main function room. Then, simulations of traditional residential houses hot-pressing ventilation were conducted.Three representative models of courtyard-style dwellings were established,The patio is located at the front, middle and back of the building respectively. The three types of patios were compared and analyzed for residential houses. The results of hot-pressing ventilation in summer showed that under the given construction area, the building of which patio located in the middle is more conducive to the hot-press ventilation of residential houses, the ventilation volume is 22% and 19% higher than that of the former patio yard and the latter.Of the three types of buildings, the minimum age of air in the building which patio located in the middle is the best for indoor ventilation. At the same time, due to the better hermeticity, the middle patio yard is more conducive to winter wind protection and thermal insulation. Finally, combining the research results with practice,we proposed two kinds of designs for modern residential buildings with middle patio, simulated and analyzed the effects of hot-pressing ventilation, verified the rationality of the design scheme, compared the similarities and differences between the two schemes, and provided the modern residential buildings as reference.
