Study On Street Vitality Evaluation And Promotion Strategy In Ancient City Area

The development of urban economy,the acceleration of urbanization movement,the scarcity of land resources and the transformation of residents’ consumption patterns have made the ancient city district,which occupies a good position for development,gradually becoming the focus of attention of city managers and developers.The wave of transformation of the ancient city brought new life to the old city districts of many cities,but it caused many streets in the ancient city area to lose their original atmosphere of life and their vitality was not good.Therefore,it draws lessons from domestic and foreign research results and builds a vitality evaluation system that is consistent with the characteristics of streets in the ancient city.In order to quantitatively reflect the status quo of the street vitality in the ancient city area,we hope to explore the existing core issues of vitality,and then explore how to enhance the vitality of the street and provide information for the healthy development,planning and management of the ancient city.Interpreting relevant concepts,drawing lessons from theories related to classic street vitality,and dividing the vitality composition of the streets in the ancient city into four parts:economic vitality,social vitality,cultural vitality,and environmental vitality.Based on the principle of selection of street vitality assessment indicators,the assessment indicators were screened by questionnaire survey experts and the Delphi method was used to determine the weight of each assessment index,the evaluation method was determined,the evaluation criteria were established,and the evaluation of street vitality in Gucheng District was constructed.system.Six typical streets were selected for demonstration in Baoding Ancient City.Taking the three street data as a sample,the initial verification of the constructed street vitality evaluation system was conducted.After the correction of the system based on the results,a comprehensive assessment of the six streets in the region was conducted.Findings:The vibrancy level of the streets in Baoding Gucheng District is relatively weak,and the overall lack of environmental vigor.The street vigor is divided into three levels.There is a significant difference in the vitality values between different regions of a street and a single street.Based on the results of the assessment,the reasons for the lack of vitality in the streets of the Gucheng District were summarized,and four basic principles for optimizing the vitality of the streets in the Gucheng District were proposed.Taking the East and West Streets of traditional commercial streets in Baoding City as an example,a series of design methods for street vitality improvement in ancient urban areas were proposed from the aspects of street building protection and renovation,public space integration and regeneration,adjustment and optimization of commercial conditions,and control of guided traffic.
