With the progress of society, more and more parents and educators are concerned about the importance of children's reading.Good reading guidance helps to shape the development of children's healthy personality and intelligence. The public library is an important place for children's growth education. It not only provides a rich reading environment, but also plays a significant role in the development of children's socialization and the development of parent-child relations. However, the development of domestic libraries is relatively late and the number is small. In terms of quantity, according to international standards,a library's service radius is usually 4km in the main residential areas of the city.Statistics from the Ministry of Culture website show that the ratio of domestic public libraries is far less than that; From the perspective of environmental quality, there is still a lack of reading spaces designed for children, such as weak interaction, single spatial functions, and adult-oriented spaces.Under the situation where the reading of the people is booming, the existing reading space cannot meet the needs of children. The state is actively improving the construction of existing cultural undertakings. The level of construction of public libraries is gradually moving from the city to the county and district to the community,so that every child can be able to walk into the library;Let children who can't return home from school have a place to study;Let parents have room to communicate with each other when they are idle. Therefore, this article is divided into three parts combined with children's psychology and other related knowledge to study children's reading space, focuses on the interactive mode, which is the interactive characteristics of between people-to-people and people-to-things.The first part starts with the research background of interaction and children's reading space at home and abroad. Then expound the causes, development, status quo, development trend of children's reading space and the related theories of children's reading space design; The second part analyzes the children's reading space in public libraries through questionnaires, field surveys, and case studies. It mainly focuses on children's reading status and behavioral characteristics in terms of psychology, pedagogy, and environmental behavior to study the relationship between children's and adult's activity characteristics with spatial types, spatial layout and spatial media. Then summarizethe problems existing in children's reading space based on interaction; The third part studies the interaction objects' characteristics of human and object and the interactive modes' characteristics of people-to-people and human-object to summarize the relationship between interactive modes and spatial design. Then it proposes suitable space types for different interaction modes, and proposes design strategies for children's reading space layout and spatial media based on the principle of promoting more active interaction between people and people and between people and things.Through the study of this topic,I hope that more people can pay attention to the design of children's reading space in public libraries and provide them with certain references.
