Research On Open Reading Space Design Of Contemporary Public Library

A public library is a growing organism,and it is constantly improving and developing.Just as Nguyen Gangnazan’s "Five Laws of the Library" states,"A library is a growing organism".In contemporary society,public libraries are advancing towards the third spatialization and de-bookification with the continuous improvement of the socialist system,the increasing cultural level of the people,and the upgrading a development of electronic information technology.And in the same way,new functional requirements and changes in service functions are brought to the library.Public libraries have gradually shifted from focusing on sorting and lending books to focusing on the services of users.Their existence has been used more as a center of public cultural activities,the cultivation of public information literacy,and the display of urban cultural image.It can be seen that the function of traditional public library reading space,which is mainly based on borrowing and reading,is difficult to meet the diversified requirements used as a "third space" mentioned above.At present,more open reading spaces are needed to supplement the main reading space,enables users to meet diverse and personalized browsing needs.Therefore,the design of the open reading space of contemporary public libraries in line with the development of the times is also particularly important.The main research object of this thesis is the open reading space whose functions tend to be compounded and generalized in contemporary public libraries.And traditional reading spaces are not included.The changes in social functions and changes in functional spaces have driven the design of open reading spaces towards freedom,diversity,compounding,intimated and sharing in many excellent public libraries at home and abroad.Through the analysis and research of the open reading space of contemporary public libraries,the paper analyzes the four morphologicalcharacteristicsof the open reading space by taking the relevant excellent public library cases as evidence.Such as boundary ablation,landscape integration,spatial integration and scale adaptability.And on this basis,from the response to the city space environment and integration of space integration,build the scale of the humanized space,guide the diverse reading path induces four aspects to meet the needs of open reading space design strategy of contemporary urban public library,in order to provide reference for subsequent open public library reading space design.Finally,taking the design of Yang Chunhu public library as an example to apply the open strategies and summing up the research results and design practices.
