Problem Diagnosis And Suggestions On The Lao-China Railway Project

Transport has affected economic development from the beginning of human civilization.Economic development focuses on the confluence transport systems.In many countries around the world,the railway is necessary form of transportation as the communities are very far apart and though there are rough roads not many people have cars.And it's a cheaper way to travel when compared with airways and others way.For the Landlocked country like Laos,the transport infrastructure is one of the most important factors for country's progress.The Lao government has highlighted the significance of the railway in transforming Laos a landlocked country to a land link and attracting more foreign investment and tourists.Thus,this dissertation aims to examine three main points: 1)the benefits of building Lao-China Railway Project for Lao PDR,2)the impact on the Socio-Economic,environment and others aspects from the Lao-China Railway Project.3)The Challenges,advantages and disadvantages of building a Lao-China Railway project.Additionally,find recommendations and suggestions on its.Similarly,a survey method was applied in this research by exploring relevant officially documentations,academic papers,journals and books as well as conducting interview with concerned authorities who are in charge of the Lao-china railway project in Lao PDR.As a result,once completed,the railway will benefit Lao people of all ethnic groups,facilitate and reduce costs of transportation,stimulate the development of agricultural and industrial sectors,tourism,investment and trade,as well as generate income for Lao people and the country.In contrast,this project also affecting the shift of livelihood especially land compensation,management of labour,meaning the Lao government has to pay attention to improving regarding law,decree,regulations to implementation in this project.Inclusion,the Lao-China railway project is necessary for the social and economic development and resources development along the line.Consequence,LaoChina railway project will satisfy the demands of facilitating the social and economic development and resources development along the line,building the modern integrated transportation network if Laos,and accelerating construction of the largecapacity railway network between neighboring ASEAN countries.
