With the rapid development of high-speed railways in China and even in the world in recent years,it has become a hot issue for the academic community to study how the high-speed railway has affected the regional economy. After the opening of China's high-speed rail, although it has been a state of rapid development for nearly a decade.Due to the level of urban economic development varies, the geographical position is also different, the impact of high-speed rail along the city and the region may not be the same.In order to study how the regional economy is affected in a concrete way, based on the current situation and theoretical analysis, this paper uses grey prediction method with and Without comparative analysis.study how high-speed rail transportation has affected the economic development of the cities along the site.In the empirical analysis, the indicators selected in this paper are: weighted average travel time, per capita GDP,industrial structure ratio, and labor turnover rate. The results showed that:First, the opening of the high-speed railway has reduced the weighted average travel time index values of 40 selected cities along the route, and the attainable level has increased. Moreover, each value is relatively more concentrated, indicating that the imbalance of traffic development in the cities along the route has eased. In general, the level of first and second-tier cities is higher than that of third-tier cities, which may be limited by the development of the third-tier cities.Second, according to the regression analysis, the weighted average travel time has a positive relationship with the per capita GDP of the cities along the route, but the predicted value of GDP per capita calculated by the grey forecast model is lower than the actual value of per capita GDP after the high-speed rail was opened. This article conjectures that this may be affected by the overall economic downturn after 2009.Therefore,the impact of high-speed railway on regional economic growth still needs time for further verification. However, the degree and route of impact on cities vary with their levels. After the high-speed railways are opened and operated, the proportion of the tertiary industry in total economic output has risen in those cities where economic development is relatively strong. But small cities with relatively weak economic strength, such as Lanzhou,Hohhot and Yinchuan,The tertiary industry instead of the proportion of the output value declined.Fourth, with the convenience of the flowbrought by the opening of the high-speed railway, the economic ties between different regions are getting stronger and the factors of production among cities are accelerating. This will enable labor, funds and information to gradually gather in the economically advantageous regions of development.Large-scale,strong cities will absorb more resources,so as to promote the development of the tertiary industry. In the relatively weak small cities, the resources are attracted and out flowed by the surrounding large cities. At the end of this paper, corresponding policy recommendations are made on how to use high-speed railways to promote the economic development of the region along the line.
