Equipment manufacturing industry is an important part of industry. It provides necessary advanced technologies and intermediate products for various industries, and at the same time promotes the structural upgrading of various industries. Therefore, equipment manufacturing industry has become an important industry for China's economic development. In 2016,as the opening year of the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”,China's equipment manufacturing industry continued its good development trend. Therefore, this paper starts with an analysis of the important role of agglomeration of equipment manufacturing industry in the development of social economy.First of all, this paper makes a statistical analysis of the literature on industrial agglomeration and regional economic growth both at home and abroad, and specifies the amount of articles published in 2000-2017 and major journals. Then it elaborates the relationship between industrial agglomeration at home and abroad and regional economic growth.Secondly, using the theoretical model of industrial agglomeration and regional economic growth,we analyzed the path of industrial agglomeration and regional economic growth, and proposed the scale economic benefits and spillover benefits of industrial agglomeration, and the concentration of production factors and related industries. The status quo of China's equipment manufacturing industry and regional economic growth will be analyzed again,in order to clarify the relationship between them, this paper conducts a spatial statistical analysis of equipment manufacturing industry agglomeration and regional economic growth.Based on the theoretical model, this article conducted an empirical analysis.Using the panel data of 31 provinces from 2005 to 2015 in China, the economic distance matrix was constructed using the spatial panel model. From the time level and the level of the east and west regions, the relationship between equipment manufacturing and regional economic growth was analyzed. Finally, based on the results of this paper,it proposes countermeasures.Through the derivation of theoretical models and empirical research, the following main conclusions have been drawn;Firstly,Research from the national level found that: Comparative analysis from five models. The model consideringspatial factor is superior to the Pooled OLS model which does not consider the spatial factors in terms of goodness of fit and variable coefficient. The four models with spatial factors are further compared. The SEPDM_FE model and equipment manufacturing are selected by ML parameter estimation method and Hausman test.Industry agglomeration has a positive correlation with regional economic growth, and CSGM's contribution to regional economic growth is not significant. The population growth rate has inhibited regional economic growth, and Open,Invest, and HK have promoted regional economic growth.Explain that reform and opening up is a powerful driving force for promoting regional economic growth.Secondly,Findings from the time horizon: Using the SEPDM-FE model and the economic distance weights analysis,we conclude that: With the time span, the regression coefficient of the agglomeration index of the equipment manufacturing industry gradually increases, and the impact on the regional economic growth becomes more and more obvious.,and the level of significance presents an increasing trend.Thirdly,Findings from the regional level: There are huge differences in the East,Middle, and West regions. The concentration index of the equipment manufacturing industry in the central region has the greatest elasticity coefficient for regional economic growth. The western region has promoted regional economic growth, but it has not been significant.
