The Construction And Applied Research Of Expressway Service Area Manger Competency Model

Expressway service area as an important part of services and infrastructure still has some problems at present,for example,functional localization is not clear,the defective management,lack of flexibility of the model.Expressway service area manager decides the developing trend,the implementation of plans and people development.The key to get a position in this competitive environment is owning high-quality talents.Therefore,combing current situation of expressway service area managers,finding out the problems in them,analyzing the future developing of competency development trend of those managers has great importance and significance to enhance the quality of service and the benefit of expressway service area.This case gives an example of company S,through the guidance of literature,behavioral event interview,questionnaire and multivariate statistical analysis to explore the competency of expressway service area manager.Integrating theory with practice,this case discusses the abilities that are required by expressway service area managers.In this way,this case establishes the model base on the competence and tests the reliability and validity of the model.This study confirms that the competency of expressway service area manager includes seven dimensions: communication skills,professional skills,team motivation,self-motivated study,Innovation consciousness,overall consideration and communicative competence.This paper can provide a theoretical basis for future empirical research in human resource management,for example,job analysis,recruitment,training and developing,salary performance.The inadequacy of this study mainly exists in sampling bias,the small sample size will bring some effects on research results.This research has made some progress,but still being a preliminary exploration.In the following studies,we can expand the scope of sampling area and use more scientific and practical methods.
