The Reconstruction Of Public Space In Commercial-Residential Blocks In Old City

The commercial and residential model originated earlier and is a form that can stand the test of urban development.Blocks,as a common form of urban material,carry various public activities while satisfying commercial functions.The coexistence of commercial and public life shows the vitality and potential of the neighborhood.However,the function itself has a certain degree of mutual interference.With the decline of the city,the loss of management of the neighborhood will become chaotic.How to enrich the diversity of space and promote the sustainable development of the neighborhood has been placed on the issue of the current renewal of the old city.The paper takes Qiguitang District of Hefei City as an example,takes the public space human behavioral cognition as the starting point,and uses the methods of public life research to conduct field research.First of all,the study of the public space environment in the neighborhood from the city,neighborhood and street level.From the perspective of public activities,the public space in the neighborhood can be known from four perspectives:"different time",“constituents of different people","different age line orientation",and "different street section traffic".Select two representative street spaces for a detailed survey.From the above field surveys,we will understand the characteristics and existing problems of public space activities in Qiguitang District.Afterwards,based on the investigation of the behavioral cognitive needs and the elements of the physical environment,the strategy for reconstructing the public space in the neighborhood was summarized.Based on these strategies,the author chose the "Street Street of Yimin Street in Guitang District" to carry out the design practice of space reconstruction.The paper hopes to explore the reconstructive strategy of public space in neighborhoods from the perspective of people’s behavioral cognition and the material basis of the neighborhood,protect the commercial vibrancy and residents’ life in the neighborhood,raise people’s attention to the neighborhoods in the old city,and realize the diversity of public activities.
