Vehicle combinations has always been the main force of cargo transportation of our country's road transport.With the rapid development of China's economy in recent years,the logistics industry has prospered quickly,thus single semi-trailer train can no longer meet the needs of the current mode of transport.In the “Outline Dimensions,Axle Loads,and Quality Limits for Automobiles,Trailers,and Motor Trains”(GB 1589-2016,abbreviated GB 1589)released in July 2016,the terminology definition for the mid-axle axle trailer train was added.The center axle trailer train has been widely used in the EU,the United States,and Australia.Its technique is relatively mature which can greatly improve the efficiency of logistics transportation on the premise of ensuring the safety of vehicle.The standard requirements of truck tractors and center axle trailers were set respectively because they were produced by different companies in China.At the same time,automobile trains are prone to traffic accidents such as folding,rollover,and tail flick.Therefore,it is of great importance to study the handling and stability of the center axle trailer train.By analyzing test methods and requirements of relevant vehicle handling stability standards,a research method combining test and simulation was determined.a set of maneuvering stability test system for center axle trailer train was established in terms of the characteristics of the center axle trailer train.Launched a real vehicle road test for center axle trailer train.According to the center axle trailer train stability control test system,test equipments were installed on relevant parts of the vehicle under the test.By the demands of the test content and requirements in the standard,the anti-rollover stability,steady-state rotation,and lateral stability tests were conducted separately.In the anti-rollover stability test,the changes of the parameters of the traction truck and the individual traction truck in the two units of the front and rear axles of the center axle trailer train and the center axle automobile train were comparatively analyzed.In the steady-state rotation test,the center axle trailer train showed good understeer characteristics;In the lateral stability test,the parameters of the center axle trailer train were analyzed as the steering wheel angle changes.A simulation model of center axle trailer train based on Trucksim was established.By setting the same simulation conditions,the accuracy of the center axle trailer train simulation model was verified by the data of the actual vehicle test.To study the handling and stability of the center axle trailer train,tests under double shift conditions and steering wheel angle step conditions were separately simulated and analyzed.
