Building information model that BIM concept has been proposed since 2002,began to be widely used in the field of engineering construction.For more than a decade,the BIM technology derived from this concept has been widely used in the civil industry.As a new concept and technology,it broke the traditional two-dimensional CAD technology concept,changed the previous production tools and production content,and completely cover the initial design phase and follow-up construction and operation,to solve the previous construction projects The whole life cycle of information scattered and uncoordinated,leading the construction industry to information technology,integration.In recent years,due to the drawbacks and shortcomings of CAD technology,the efficiency and quality of highway projects have not been improved.In order to explore and sort out the research results of the predecessors,the author tries to apply the theory and technology of BIM to the design of linear highway.This paper mainly has the following contents:(1)Explain the source and development of BIM,analyze the technical characteristics of BIM,and compare with traditional CAD technology to explore the advantages of BIM technology.(2)from the project management,project design and other different stages,to explore the BIM technology in highway applications.At the same time,the application of BIM in highway design is typical,and the concrete method of route design and road model generation is expounded with Civil 3D as the vehicle,and the rationality and superiority of BIM technology to highway project are proved.As the basis for the use of BIM technology for road linetype program selection basis.(3)Taking the actual project as a case,using Civil 3D software to create a terrain surface,establish a three-dimensional road model,vertical and horizontal map and a series of operations,get the linear highway design,and extract the data,to study and Analyse.Then the optimal scheme is obtained according to the evaluation method of highway line design scheme.The BIM technology is of great value in the application of highway engineering projects.In this paper,BIM technology is applied to highway engineering project through a series of exploration and inquiry,analysis theory and practice,which proves the rationality and feasibility of BIM.BIM as a very cutting-edge technology,the market is huge,the prospects are bright,the future in the construction industry will be the trend.
