It has been more than 40 years on high-speed urbanization since the implementation of Reform and Open policy,following by significant urban problem resulted from such accelerate urbanization and unreasonable development.One of those problem sets on the massive water shortage but frequently water issues such as water-logging and runoff pollution in raining season.The overseas developed countries possess ripe technologies now knowledge from their advanced study on urban water resources management.At this moment,the importance of the urban resources management comes to awareness in our country.Referring aboard experience on related problem solution and according to the principle of ecology priority,it brought the concept of Sponge City in combination with the state policy of sustainable development.By the external forces compliant to the law in nature,with guarantee on reginal draining and waterlogging control,maximum the realization of water stockpile,penetration and purification in city area contributing to urban sustainable development.Based on current research and result on Sponge City technology,this paper goes from the design of landscape architecture,give a discussion on the optimization of rainwater management equipment from the aspect of landscape architecture,which allows those equipment not only artistic and entertaining but more functional.Meanwhile,it studies the expression form of rainwater,as the element for landscape architecture,in residential landscape design to enhance the regional landscape characteristics and raise the additional value from landscape to the residential area.It studies and analysis the cases of residential landscape design with Sponge City concept.In the end it looks for the methods to blend the concept of Sponge City into landscape architectures via analyzing and studying on in and aboard experience and cases.
