The end product of the construction industry has a strong pulling effect on other industries, which promotes the construction industry's carbon emissions with a very significant indirect emission correlation, and it is a key area of carbon reduction across the society. In the current study on the relationship between carbon emissions and economic growth about the construction industry, most of the data on carbon emissions in the construction industry is based on the energy consumption data of the construction industry in the statistical yearbook. However, because of the statistical methods in China, the energy consumption data in the construction industry only covers the data.which the phase of construction and demolition, the energy consumption data of the use phase were scattered among other industries, making the research conclusions about the factors affecting the carbon emissions of the related construction industry unreliable, and the quantitative analysis results of the relationship between carbon emissions and economic growth in the construction industry could not be true to reflect the actual low-carbon development of the construction industry. Therefore, the estimated carbon emissions in the construction industry include the pulling amount of carbon emissions from the construction industry to other industries, which can better compensate for the incompleteness of the calculation results of energy statistics in the construction industry,as well as the subsequent influencing factors and correlation analysis. The research section provides more accurate basic data. The analysis of the influencing factors about carbon emissions in construction industry and the analysis of the correlation between carbon emissions and economic growth are helpful to understand the current status of low-carbon development in the construction industry,it could provide reference and basis for the development of low carbon policies in the regional construction industry and the development of carbon reduction technologies. The energy consumption of buildings in Guangdong Province is among the highest in the country, there is a huge potential for energy saving and emission reduction in the construction industry. This article takes the construction industry of Guangdong Province as the research object, first analyzes the connection between Guangdong construction industry and other industries, and then uses the carbon emission factors announced by the Guangdong Provincial Development and Reform Commission and domestic foreign research institutions based on the basic data of the Guangdong Energy Balance Sheet.Emission factor analysis was used to measure direct carbon emissions.Subsequently,an input-output method was used to establish a model of associated carbon emissions from the construction industry in Guangdong, and Guangdong construction industry's total consumption coefficient for 25 other industries was used to calculate Guangdong Province construction industry's relative carbon emission from 2005 to 2015;afterwards,factors such as urbanization rate, number of permanent residents, and energy consumption per unit of construction area were used to expand the STIRPAT model, and combine with ridge regression to eliminate multiple collinearity effects existing between indicators, analyze the influencing factors of related carbon emissions in the Guangdong construction industry from three aspects;finally, based on the use of unit root,Granger causality and other methods to test EKC curves,a long-term equilibrium relationship with economic growth and the carbon emissions of Guangdong construction industry are discussed. At the same time, the Tapio decoupling model was constructed to reveal decoupling the relationship between emissions and economic growth of Guangdong's construction industry from 2005 to 2015.The results show that in the related carbon emissions of the Guangdong construction industry, indirect carbon emissions account for about 95%,and the non-metallic mineral products industry contributes more than 45% to the indirect carbon emissions of the construction industry, ranking first in the all industry, followed by metals. The smelting and rolling processing industry contributes more than 8%,which means that the carbon emissions in the production process of building materials such as cement and steel are the main part of the associated carbon emissions in the construction industry, and the construction industry has a very strong driving effect on the input of intermediate products in other sectors. The urbanization rate of Guangdong Province has the greatest impact on the associated carbon emissions of the construction industry. The urbanization rate increases by 1%,which can increase the associated carbon emissions of the construction industry by approximately 1.07%,followed by the resident population and the per capita output value of the construction industry. There is an inverted U-shaped relationship between the associated carbon emissions and economic growth of the construction industry in Guangdong Province, and the inflection point was reached around 2015,furthermore,the associated carbon emissions and the economic growth of the construction industry remained weak and decoupled,it also verifies the conclusion in the same time, that shows that the construction industry in Guangdong Province has a good momentum of low-carbon development. The use of recyclable and renewable building materials to replace high-energy-consumption building materials is the optimal path for low carbon development in the construction industry.
