As a new kind of driving motor,Switched reluctance motor(SRM)has simple and firm structure and can work reliably and efficiently.Switched reluctance motor drive(SRD),has the advantages of traditional AC and DC control system.So SRM can stand out in the field of AC speed regulation and become a popular subject rapidly in modern electric drive field.Although SRM has many advantages,its disadvantages are also prominent.Its special doubly salient structure,nonlinearity of flux and current,and switching power supply mode cause the problem of noise and torque ripple of SRM serious,which limits the application of SRM.The aim of this paper is to design a SRD,whose rated voltage is 36 V and rated power is 550 W.First,the basic theory of SRM is introduced,including development trend,basic construction,operation principle and mathematical model.The influence of motor parameters to SRM is also analysed.To design a SRM,the size of SRM should be chosen according to the asynchronous motor of the same rated power.And then,each parameter of SRM should be calculated.Then all the parameter are inputted into a motor design software named SPEED2009.The performance of the designed SRM can be simulated by SPEED2009 and the parameters can be optimized according to its performance.Considering of the control requirements of three-phase 12/8 SRD,TMS320F2806 is used as the core chip from the point of view of applicability and economy.The common interface of motor control should be extended out,such as PWM and QEP.Display and keyboard are also needed.The working performance of SRM is transmitted to Lab VIEW through serial port.From the point of control strategy,the vibration and acoustic noise of SRM are studied in this paper.Double closed loop regulation system of speed and current of SRM based on current sharing method is realized in MATLAB/Simulink environment.Random carrier PWM(RCPWM)is applied to the current loop to realize the frequency spectra spread for SRM.The harmonics at a certain frequency are spread continuously to a wider frequency range.The vibration and acoustic noise can be reduced effectively.Finally,the software program of the three-phase 12/8 SRD is designed,including DSP control program and Lab VIEW interface.Several experiments are operated on this system,the results certify the correctness and effectiveness of the SRD.The paper gives some tests on how to improve the performance of SRD and can provide a good foundation for the popularization and Application of SRM.
