Industrial product exterior design play an increasingly important role in the development of modern industrial products.Product appearance includes product appearance and surface decoration.Computer Aided Industrial Design(CAID)is usually used for design.In the field of industrial product design,virtual product decoration plays an increasingly important role in the development process.Designers` requirement about the surface decoration of virtual products with Chinese calligraphic elements is higher and higher,but during the actual process,the designers can not accurately control the shape and style of stroke through the virtual drawing system.Therefore,the following research was done:Because Chinese calligraphy styles have their own merits,this paper has specially selected the most representative running script as the research object.This paper introduces the force feedback technology into the virtual drawing system and proposes calligraphy simulation method on 3D model surface based on the force feedback technology.Firstly,the force and deformation of the brush in the 3D virtual drawing are analyzed,the virtual brush model based on force feedback technology is constructed,the characteristics of the collision between the brush and the 3D model surface are analyzed,and the method is presented between the virtual brush and the brush.The collision detection method uses local mapping to map the formed 2D strokes onto the surface of the 3D product surface in real time,superimposes to form a 3D stroke,and then analyzes the features of a large number of running scripts,and constructs feature libraries for the strokes.A set of rules for recognizing the strokes of a running scripts was used to call the feature database,and the formed strokes are processed with white-texture mapping to complete the unique surface calligraphy simulation on the 3D model.Finally,the virtual drawing system is introduced.Combining the Phantom Desktop force feedback device with the built software system,the user can feel the real feedback force in the virtual drawing process,so as to adjust the following writing force,and complete human-computer interaction script calligraphy simulation.The simulation results show that this method can obtain better virtual calligraphy effect of calligraphy.
