Research On The Identifiability Of Industrial Heritage And The Presentation Modes Of Characteristics

Since the 1990s,China’s cities have entered a period of rapid development,and in the context of "retreat into two,three," a large number of factories have stopped production or moved out of the city,leaving a large number of industrial heritage.Since the mid-to-late 1990s,China began research on industrial heritage.After nearly 20 years of development,the protection and reuse of industrial heritage in China has yielded rich research results and practical experience.However,due to the lack of assessment of the value of industrial heritage and the lack of understanding of the features of industrial heritage,the problems caused by "protective destruction" have also emerged.The methods of concealing,destroying or removing the features of industrial heritage have caused the loss of important historical information,which has greatly reduced the recognition of industrial heritage,especially as the reason on the lack of in-depth research into the scientific and technological value of production,many important equipments have been dismantled and many important processes have been eliminated.On the other hand,the features of industrial heritage buildings in design,materials,structure,space,etc.have also not been properly identified,preserved,and presented.This has led to the study of the identification of industrial heritage and the presentation modes of characteristics.First of all,this article discusses the connection between the originality,value,and discernment of industrial heritage,and regards the six aspects of authenticity standards as the identifying elements of industrial heritage,namely form and design,materials and materials,use and function,tradition and technology,location and environment,spirit and feelings.Secondly,this article discusses the characteristics of industrial heritage from the above six aspects in a multi-level and omni-directional manner,and interprets the information contained therein and the implications,and summarizes the main points of identifying various aspects of industrial heritage.At the same time,the research also pays attention to the connection between the various aspects,and analysis the internal logic.Third,through a large number of case studies,analyze and summarize the presentation modes of the features of industrial heritage in terms of form,material,function,structure,and environment.Finally,using the former site of Huaxin Cement Plant as a case,a comprehensive and in-depth identification and analysis of its characteristics was conducted as an empirical study.
