The distributed energy resources(DER)system is more beneficial to energy conservation and emission reduction than the conventional separation production(SP)system and it conforms to the national energy development plan. However, the cooling, heating and electricity demand for each building is different. In order to ensure the rationality and economy of DER system, the key is to maintain the optimal supply and demand balance of cooling, heating and electricity load and maximize the efficiency of energy utilization in the process of design and operation of DER system. In this paper, the operation characteristics of DER system are studied under different demands of cooling, heating and electricity for a railway station complex in hot summer and cold winter area. The cooling, heating and electricity load characteristics of the station complex are complicated. The proportion of non-air conditioning area is large and the building's heatto-electric ratio is low, which has a certain impact on the energy utilization of the DER system. In order to study the effect of the electric load of non-air conditioning area to the DER system, the TRNSYS simulation platform of DER system has been built. The complex's heat-to-electric ratio is chosen as the optimal variable. The corresponding control parameters of DER systems is selected according to the different heat-to-electric ratio. The hourly operation data of the DER systems in different operation modes are simulated. The characteristics of each operation mode are analyzed. The optimal evaluation indexes are calculated. Finally, the optimal operation mode of DER system in different heat-to-electric ratio can be obtained. As the reference by the corresponding parameters of SP system, the evaluation index of DER systems on different methods are calculated and analyzed, which related to energy efficiency, economy and environmental protection, and jointly evaluated by the annual average energy comprehensive utilization index.Through comprehensive comparison and analysis, the station complex is more suitable for use of the Following the Heating load(FHL)method when the heat-to-electric ratio is less than 1.7,the station complex is more suitable for use of the Following the Power load(FPL)method when the heat-to-electric ratio is greater than or equal to 1.7.In addition, compared with the conventional SP system, the comprehensive evaluation index for DER system on FHL method is 6% when the heatto-electric ratio is 1.3,the comprehensive evaluation index for DER system on FPL method is 10.9% when the heat-to-electric ratio is 1.8.
