The Shiyang River Basin is located in the eastern part of Gansu Province and is close to the Loess Plateau.Precipitation is rare in high-altitude areas within the basin. The land cover types are mainly woodlands and grasslands, and the water shortage is severe. The rivers in the central and northeast are scarce, and the source of water resources is atmospheric precipitation. With the melting of ice and snow, the amount of water per capita that can be used is far below the national per capita level, and over-exploitation of water resources occurs in many places. In terms of soil types in the Shiyang River Basin, sand and loamy soils are mostly dominant. The soil has high infiltration rate, strong water conductivity, poor soil water holding capacity, and special geographical location and geological properties. This has led to a lack of water resources in the Shiyang River Basin. From the point of view of the number of monitoring stations, there are only 5 meteorological stations recorded in the whole basin. The meteorological data in the collected watersheds are very limited, and the meteorological stations are distributed mostly in the south and southwest.Meteorological research has also increased difficulties.Various phenomena indicate that it is imperative to conduct research on the hydrology of the Shiyang River Basin, and it is a key factor that should be considered in conjunction with the actual situation in the area. This paper selects the SCS model which is suitable for the dataless area. The main advantage of this model is that there is only one parameter in the model to characterize the impact of soil hydrology and other conditions on surface runoff from rainfall. The main research contents are as follows:(1)Using the digital elevation model to extract the distribution of water systems in the Shiyang River Basin, and according to the actual situation, the land use types are divided into seven major categories: saline-alkali land, bare land, and waters, according to the minimum of the corresponding soil The infiltration rate divides the soil types into four categories A,B,C,and D;(2)Calculates the number of runoff curves under the normal degree of moisture in the Shiyang River Basin, based on the values of the runoff curve and the domestic experience.(3)Using the precipitation data from the Shiyang River Basin and its surrounding meteorological stations, using the Kriging interpolation to derive the spatial distribution of the precipitation in the river basin and comparing the previous soil moisture levels in the basin, using the model's conversion formula to obtain the actual situation The distribution of runoff curves in the Lower Shiyang River Basin;(4)In the analysis section of the article,a comprehensive analysis of the digital elevation model, distribution of water systems, soil hydrology, precipitation spatial distribution, runoff curve number distribution, and river basin runoff capacity was conducted in the previous period. From multiple perspectives to explain the causes of drought in the Shiyang River, and take human factors such as population distribution into consideration, exploring the Shiyang River in many ways. The fundamental problem domain where water scarcity. It was concluded that the population in the middle of the Shiyang River Basin is densely populated with less water distribution and low water resources.Over-exploitation of groundwater in many areas is serious.Precipitation is relatively low in regions with high runoff capacity, and relatively low in regions with relatively high precipitation. The mutual restriction of multiple factors has caused a year-long drought in the Shiyang River Basin.
