In the research of contemporary Chinese architecture,most of them are concentrated in the field of architectural ontology,and there is a lack of research work that maintains a cross with the vision of other disciplines.In order to deepen our understanding of the building production process and design practice,we need more analytical research work that closely links political economy and architecture issues.Therefore,although this study selects architectural design institutions as research objects,it is not only limited to the attention of the organization itself,but it relates the development of the institution to the political and economic environment,the concept of architectural culture and the evolution of architectural technology,and is taken into consideration as a whole.At a more macro level,historical materials,literature research,data analysis,case studies,and research interviews were adopted.From the two dimensions of qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis,they were used as connecting architectural design markets and individual architects since the founding of China.The architectural design agency,under the influence of other factors in the development and evolution process.At the same time,on the basis of comparing the experience of pioneers in the major western developed countries,a comparative study of different types of institutions is conducted from the perspective of the division of labor,and the reasons behind them are further analyzed,and thus the architectural design institutions under the “new normal” of the economy paradigm transformation and the reconstruction of the architect’s career scene make recommendations.(1)For the analysis of the development and evolution process of architectural design institutions since the founding of the People’s Republic of China,this study has been carried out in depth according to the time frame.It is concluded that in the process of shifting the political and economic environment from planning to market,the external division of the organization in the architectural design market has also undergone a transition from national construction tasks to market competition,which has led to the division of institutional types from one to ten thousand.(2)To classify and compare the different types of institutions in the current architectural design market,this study conducts in-depth developments in several aspects,including competition strategy,organizational structure,production system,output,and professional status of architects,to further analyze their internal operations.mechanism.It was concluded that under the guidance of the market,“organizational companies” are more focused on the integrated and large-scale organizational structure.The architects that survive are the “screws” in the building production process;and the “architects’ firm” is Under the trend of specialized division of labor,more emphasis is placed on miniaturization and a more flexible organizational structure.A more specialized mechanism guided by works is conducive to the creative process of architects.Based on the above research results,this study takes the inevitable trend of specialization under the capitalist mode of production as the starting point,and in the new economic environment,makes judgments on the possible paths of the traditional paradigm transformation of architectural design institutions: With subdivided markets and demand for refinement,“organizational companies” will inevitably adopt a comprehensive technical strength line and take the scaled development path;2)With the access system of the architectural design market from institutional qualifications to individual practice In the transformation,the "Architectural Firm" will take the specialization of development and strengthen the role of the registered architect in the construction project;3)The architect can only extend his professional picture from the specialized field to the coordinator of the construction project.And managers can deal with the ever-increasing exchange costs brought about by division of labor specialization,thereby increasing the organization’s production efficiency.
