Research On Humanistic Space Of Urban Mega-structure Of Chongqing Based On Phenomenology

At the current period of rapid urbanization in China,there rises a tendency of building urban mega-structure,gradually changing the traditional form of contemporary China's cities.Because of is inhuman feature in terms of scale,urban mega-structure is always regarded as a kind of urban elements that destroy local context and the structure of place,while most theories of humanistic cities deny its features of forming place.However,the environmental features of urban mega-structure have gradually become the environmental background of the life of modern urban residents,constituting the main special system of their settlement.The humanistic features of urban mega-structure play an important role in the perception of urban form by the experiencing subjects in cities.In Chongqing,thanks to its function in deal with the tense relationship between people and land in order to bring higher land-use efficiency,urban mega-structure is of great representativeness among China's cities.In addition,with the influence of Chongqing's unique mountainous landscaping and city context,the space of urban mega-structure and traditional urban space intersperse,confront and are blended with each other,furthermore brought together into the living environment of city residents,which forms the seemingly illogical but internally unitive morphological logic from a microscopic view,thus elucidating the urban form's authentic meaning of settlement from the view of phenomenology.This paper interprets the theory of urbanism based on phenomenology and explores its value on methodology.Using the microscopic view if phenomenology,it depicts a grand picture covering all areas of the humanistic space of urban mega-structure in Chongqing,based on which the paper further conducts phenomenological restoring,intending to propose the rules of the generation of the humanistic space of urban mega-structure in Chongqing by uncovering the types of space generation modules,furthermore answering the question that how the seemingly illogic space of mega-structure in Chongqing reflects its logic and expresses Chongqing's habitability as a modern city through the humanization of special form,which can elucidate the original meaning of settlement of Chongqing as a typical city.By the phenomenological inspection on specific urban spaces,the paper proposes 4 pairs of mutually-exclusive but united features of relationship and considers their unstable aspects of interaction as the origin of the generation of complexity of Chongqing's urban morphology produced by the space of urban mega-structure and their coordinating aspects as the origin of how the space of urban mega-structure can be humanized to improve habitability in Chongqing.In addition,this unstableness together with the coordination generates the unique regional characteristics of Chongqing as well.Finally,the paper discusses the methodology of urban design based on phenomenology.On the foundation of the acknowledgement of the relation between urban mega-structure and the creating of humanistic space together with the practical analysis,the design methods are deducted and the preliminary design strategies of the humanistic space of urban mega-structure are concluded.Specifically,this paper consists of 6 chapters:Introduction,this chapter mainly clarifies the background of research,based on which it establishes the humanistic space of mega-structure as the research object and furthermore concludes the current status of research followed by the primary overview of the research objectives and framework.the 2^nd Chapter which is the theory research is significant in the paper,which carefully inspects the role of phenomenology in the field of urban morphology and its elementary concepts,trying to explore the dialectical complement and its application method from the viewpoint of ontology and methodology.Through theories fusion,the paper proposes the fundamental strategies of urban space research based on phenomenology which is theoretically crucial to subsequent research.The 3^rd Chapter is the explorational part of the research,which proposes 3 degrees of urban perception consists of urban elements,urban diagram and urban picture through discussing the urban perception structure based on phenomenology and further inspects the internal structure of urban phenomenological diagram in order to present the elementary typological scopes of phenomenological urban morphology according to the urban locating diagram of center,path and domain.This constructs an elementary framework for subsequent research and obtains the general features of the humanistic space of urban mega-structure based on phenomenology,which can be regarded as a guideline for specific research.The Chapter4 is the core part of the paper and the presentation of the research result.This chapter analyzes and restores at length that how the humanistic space of urban mega-structure in Chongqing presents itself from the aspects of center,path and domain,and excavates settling meaning delivered by various specific special forms which also can be seen as the relation between urban space and place construction,and explores the rules of this relation.Finally,the paper concludes the features of urban mega-structure,its types,as well as its generating mechanism.The 5^th Chapter is the extended part of the research,which further exploits the practical value facilitating the design process.In this chapter,firstly it is proposed that“the design originates from the representation of experiencing and the design view should pay attention to the living world and environmental atmosphere”.Additionally,based on the elementary concept of phenomenology that considers the direct revealing of urban space morphology,the continuousness of the meaning of cities,and the fundamental purpose that helping people settle down,the paper proposes the design strategies of the humanistic space of urban mega-structure in Chongqing.Eventually,the epilogue summarizes the whole paper,analyzes the shortness of the research,and outlooks the research potential.In general,the paper builds up a relatively thorough procedure for the research on the humanistic space of urban mega-structure in Chongqing based on phenomenology by parts as putting forward question,theoretic research,theory practice and research extending.After establishing the epistemology that admitting the correlation between urban form and genius loci,the research
