| At present, China opened a new round of upsurge of urbanization, urban topics arein the ascendant. However, we have also seen a lot of unknown, gaps, confusion andmisleading in urban design theory and construction practices.The city is an inevitableproduction of the continuous progress of the society and the development ofproductivity, which is the carrier of human civilization. The study of urban morphologywhose cores are the characteristics of physical form and evolution rule is the importantstudy content of the urban design theory.This thesis trys to find out the evolution rule of Chongqing, which is a typicalwesten, mountainous and newly developed, through the process of Chongqing’s formevolution, exploring the dynamic mechanism that pushed the Chongqing’s formevolution.The first chapter discusses the elements of Chinese urban studies at this stage,the background and status of urban morphology studies, initially defining the relevantconcepts. The second chapter represents the relevant theory and research tools.The thirdchapter to the sixth chapter are the main part of the thesis. The third chapter takes thehistory as the main line, giving a qualitative description of the process and thecharacteristics of Chongqing urban morphology evolution,and to prepare for refiningdynamic mechanism.The fourth chapter conducts a quantitative analysis of the outlineof the evolution of Chongqing city, and disgusses the dynamic mechanism that pushesthe evolution systematically.The fifth chapter, has done a quantitative analysis on theevolution of Chongqing urban space network, taking the dynamic mechanism as themethod for explianation, adding up the dynamic mechanism of evolution.The sixthchapter conducts a quantitative analysis on the evolution of city plots of Chongqing,giving a reinforcement for the dynamic mechanism.Seventh,the last chapter,summarizes the evolution of morphological characteristics of Chongqing city, andfeatures dynamic mechanism. |
