Street space is an organic combination of physical space forms and the political,economic,and cultural factors behind them.It is constantly updated and replaced by the long-term mutual influence and interaction.With the advent of the Internet and new media,people’s ways of experiencing and understanding streets are gradually developing from personal experience to relying on the media.Some traditional space research and spatial planning have also lagged behind the experience and needs of people in space under the cyber society.This lag has further affected people’s understanding of urban spatial characteristics in the cyber society.This article first reviews the historical causes of street development,combing the relevant theories and research methods of street composition research,street physical form research,street social vitality research and street network research.At the same time summarizes the research of space production,space consumption,media and space.Clarifies the interaction between space and media,and also summarizes existing urban research models.It is pointed out that using network semantics to study the street space is still in its infancy in China and lacks systematic research and follow-up analysis.Based on the above literature research foundation,this paper proposes a spatial research method for network semantics,that is,research the space through the semantic analysis of multivariate data.Then the whole research framework of this paper is proposed from the three aspects of street shape,street semantics and street space characteristics.The chapter adopts a three-step analysis method of “principle,model,and empirical”.The basic form mainly analyzes the geometric shape and topological shape of the street network;the semantic study constructs a spatial semantics research model from the three levels of the macro street network,the meso-view street space,and the micro street node.In the street network model,it points out the insufficient application of space syntax in the network society,and proposes a new optimization model.And using the model to use multiple types of network data to conduct empirical research on the Guangzhou Old City area.Street space characteristics take empirical research as an example to try to summarize the street characteristics and its formation mechanism in the Internet society.Finally,this paper summarizes the application strategies and research conclusions of the web semantic approach in this study.Sums up three semantic analysis models,three empirical findings,and three levels of street characteristics and formation mechanisms.At the same time,it will reflect on the problems existing in the street planning and even the space planning at the current stage and propose suggestions for the development of street space.In addition,the planning research and application of this method may reflect on the possible problems,including the inherent flaws of the network semantic method,the limitations of network data,and the deviation of statistics and calculation process.It also provides reference ideas and research prospects for future related research.
