With the rapid development of urbanization in China,commer cial district has gradually become an important part of modern urban spac e.It undertakes the responsibilities of increasing urban vitality,promoting economic development and meeting people's increasingly living demand.However,the pursuit of economic profits and the gap in urban planning a bility have led to many failure cases of commercial street in many Chines e cities in recent years.It is simply due to the sluggish economic develop ment and the mismatch between the humanistic conditions and the setting of the commercial streets,if we consider the main reasons in our traditio nal way of thinking.In the paper,Spatial Configuration,a non-ignorable f actor affecting the development of commercial street,will be explained w ith a brand new angle and theory.Spatial Syntax,the core theoretical basi s of the paper,is the one of the main theories studying Spatial Configurati on.The paper,taking He Street and "German town" in Changde City as t he research objects,revealed the deep-seated reasons behind the polarizati on of the two commercial streets in their development process from the p erspective of their objective Spatial Configuration by quantitatively analy sis with the spatial syntax software Depthmap,intending to provide case s upport and inspirations for the commercial streets development in China.This paper first introduces the research status and progress of spatial syntax and urban commercial space from domestic and foreign perspectiv es.Next,it introduces the main research content and the analysis and rese arch ideas of this paper,and introduces the main research methods and i nnovation points.Then,the paper makes a detailed syntactic quantitative analysis of th e corresponding functional business areas and streets of Small-river street and "German town",and through the comparison of the relationship betw een the syntactic variable data and the functional business areas,it can be concluded that the functional business distribution and spatial structure ch aracteristics of Small-river Street are in a benign and scientific combinati on,which shows that the designers have fully considered the big and smal l rivers when planning the layout The characteristics of street spatial struc ture,and its scientific layout of the format,so that its drainage capacity o utstanding,business prosperity so far.However,the spatial structure and f unction of "German town" are not reasonable.The designers only conside r the style,but neglect the more important spatial problems,which finally leads to the dilemma of "German town".At the end of the paper,on the b asis of the above syntactic analysis of "German town",referring to the su ccessful spatial planning and layout of business forms of big and small ri ver streets,three problems of unreasonable spatial structure,business for ms and cultural positioning are studied.1.The narrow and long streets are lack of change,easy to aesthetic fatigue.2.The distribution of business t ypes does not match the spatial characteristics.3.Lack of cultural heritag e,unable to produce cultural resonance.Next,three space optimization str ategies are put forward for "German town".1.2.Make functional layout according to the spatial characteristics.3.Diversify the street space and c hange the architectural pattern.According to these three optimization strat egies,the spatial structure and the functional layout of the formats are re planned in order to solve the problem of commercial drainage and help th e development of Changde's tourism industry.
