Research On The Information Management System Of EPC Project Based On BIM

At present,most of the EPC general contracting projects in China still use conventional information management modes.Conventional information management modes,due to the lack of advanced information management technologies,can easily cause problems such as information gaps and losses during the construction,affecting the smooth progress of projects.This dissertation took EPC project information management as the research object,and had an exploratory try to apply BIM into EPC project information management.And a BIM-based EPC project information management framework was constructed and the concrete implementation was analyzed and studied.This dissertation mainly focused on the following five aspects:First,the coherence point of BIM and EPC project information management was analyzed after the study of the connotations of BIM and the theory and characteristics of the EPC general contracting mode.The results of the analysis showed that it was feasible to apply BIM into the information management of EPC general contracting projects.Second,the information integration needs of all aspects of EPC project construction and the information management needs of all participants of such projects were analyzed.The results of the analysis showed that the application of BIM in the integrated management of EPC projects should meet both of the aforementioned needs.Third,after meeting the needs of all aspects,a BIM-based framework for the information management of EPC projects was constructed,and the basic data layer,model layer and functional module layer contained in the framework were studied.Fourth,an implementation platform was established for the implementation of the framework.On this platform,the information integration and interactions at all stages were studied.Corresponding implementation safeguard systems were also established to ensure the implementation of the information management framework.Fifth,an EPC project case was studied,and the application of BIM in the information management of the project and the benefit brought by BIM for the project were also analyzed.The efficiency and feasibility of BIM in the information management of EPC projects were verified through research.The contents of this dissertation has a great significance in the information management of EPC general contracting projects,which can be increased through the application of BIM.Those provides a referenc for the application of BIM in the information management of general contracting projects in the future.
