EPC General Contracting Mode Project Management Application Research Of YDI Group Co., Ltd.

Since 1980s,the EPC（Engineering-Procurement-Construction）general contracting model has been applied in construction engineering.It has gradually become the main approach taken by the international community during the past 30 years.Compared with the traditional subcontracting model and construction general contracting model,EPC can fully leverage the role of design during construction,overcome the difficulties among design,procurement and construction.Therefore,it is helpful to the optimization of the overall project construction plan,quality improvement,process and cost control.In recent years,the EPC general contracting model is becoming more and more popular in engineering and construction in China.On January 1^st 2018,“the Management Standard of the General contracting about Construction Project（GB50358-2017）”was officially released.The Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development.With the continuous improvement in this management model,China has gained more and more experience in engineering and construction projects.The proportion that companies who adopt the EPC general contracting model will largely improved.Because of the leading role of EPC general contracting model in design,many traditional design institutes in China have transformed into EPC project general contracting-full-process consulting companies with their own advantages.In 1985,the YDI Group began to launch the general contracting business.In 2015,it established an engineering investment company.Since then,the EPC general contracting business has become one of its major business.In 2019,in order to better manage the general contracting business,the YDI Group officially set up the General Contracting Unit.“The Management Measures on General Contracting of YDI Group”has been released by this Unit.Since 2015,the YDI Group has completed general contracting business that worth more than 10 billion yuan.Therefore,it has gained a great deal of experience on EPC general contracting project management.This article uses literature method,case study method and other methods,combined with transaction cost theory,to analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the EPC general contracting business of the design institute,and to summarize the EPC general contracting project management case to summarize the group’s EPC model general contracting business in recent years.Management experience,analyze the management points of the current group EPC general contract model project management and the shortcomings and deficiencies in the management process;discuss how to better play the leading role of the design institute in the EPC mode general contract project,and to YDI Group EPC The project management improvement and the group’s next development put forward certain suggestions.
