Study On The Reutilization Of Materials With Local Characteristics In The Protection And Inheritance Of Traditional Folk Houses In East Sichuan

As an important part of traditional architecture in China,traditional dwellings contain abundant human civilization and cultural heritage,occupy a significant status in brilliant traditional architecture cultural heritage and carry forward most authentic and massive historical information.In the process of rural-urban integrated development,traditional dwellings gradually fade away out of the maladjustment to modern life demands and converted lifestyle.Partial traditional dwellings have been demolished due to the absence of effective protection.Traditional dwellings now fall into a precarious situation.With the development history for more than 300 years,Chongqing Beibei Jingangbei Ancient Town(hereinafter abbreviated for Jingangbei Ancient Town)fully represents the characteristics of traditional market towns in Southwestern mountainous environment.Rural materials show lots of advantages as the building materials for traditional dwellings.However,in the construction process of dwellings,the technical craft of rural materials is fully based on past experience.However,this is found to be flawed in quantification,preciseness and normalization.In addition,since rural materials are chronically exposed to the weather outdoors,they are apt to corrosion damages.This is also the reason why rural materials could not obtain more extensive application and expansion in the protection and inheritance of traditional dwellings.All of these problems deserve in-depth discussions.Effective measures for the protection and inheritance of traditional dwellings could only take shape by comprehensively and systematically improving the technical craft of rural materials in traditional dwellings.Beginning with the perspective which regards rural materials as the building materials for traditional dwellings,this thesis figures out problems of rural materialsexisting in traditional dwellings and technical bottlenecks in the application of rural materials in traditional dwellings-the shortage of effective combination between modern technology and modern material by observing the property of rural materials,visiting and investigating the use and reuse conditions of rural materials in traditional dwellings.Targeted at the problems,the thesis conducts an analysis on traditional dwelling from the perspective of construction dimension,modeling shape,use cycle and modern demands.Based on the summary of the advantages and disadvantages of rural materials,the thesis advises to combine rural materials with modern technology and modern materials,apply reuse design methods and specific representation forms and accordingly offer reference to the reuse of rural materials in traditional dwellings of China.In explicit and effective forms such as atlas,graph and pattern,the thesis provides feasible materials for the reuse of rural materials in Eastern Sichuan traditional dwellings,and refines a set of rural material reuse design methods and practice tactics for the protection and inheritance of Eastern Sichuan traditional dwellings.In addition,in combination with the graduation project,the author converts the research results –The Theoretical Knowledge to Apply Rural Materials Integrated with Modern Technology and Modern Materials in the Construction of Traditional Dwellings into pragmatic technology for design instructions and reveals the research values,historic values and cultural values of reused rural materials.
