Vehicular ad hoc network(VANET),as the traffic application of Mobile ad hoc network(MANET),has attracted much attention from academia and industry.Firstly,applications in VANET are mostly critical so that they satisfy not only the functional properties,but also some non functional attributes,such as user privacy and security.Secondly,in order to bring a more humanized driving experience to users,the VANET should provide more abundant computing and storage resources.In order to achieve the above two challenges,people try to use the cloud computing to achieve more efficient and safer protocol in VANET.In this paper,we present an in-depth research on the data security transmission protocol for VANET based on cloud computing.On the one hand,in order to ensure the privacy and security of user's data in VANET applications,a fault-tolerant batch verification algorithm is proposed and ap-plied in cloud assisted VANET,which is based on d-cover-free family.This scheme uses the pseudonym technology to realize the privacy protection of the vehicle users in VANET.For message communication between vehicles and RoadSide Unit(RSU),the scheme uses digital signature and batch verification to realize the non-repudiation of the message.Here we use the fault tolerance of batch verification to identify the valid message-signature pairs from amount of message-signature pairs including invalid message-signature pairs.As a result,we can improve the efficiency of the verification process.At the same time,the scheme uses cloud computing as the third party to carry out traffic analysis on the messages and provides computing services for the RSU.In order to verify the applicability of this protocol,we have carried out a simulation on this protocol.The experimental results show that the protocol is both correct and efficient.On the other hand,due to the improvement of modern vehicle performance and the increasing availability of resources,this paper proposes a vehicular cloud establishment and maintenance protocol,and realizes data security transmission in vehicular cloud.We use the vehicles in VANET as an infrastructure to provide cloud computing,which is called vehicular cloud.The vehicles that provide resources in our protocol are called cloud members,and the vehicles or other entities that request resources are called cloud users.As the common knowledge,VANET should satisfy the high dynamic property.Hence,we need to maintain vehicular cloud.When a vehicle joins or exits a vehicular cloud,the protocol should keep the safety and privacy of vehicles.When a cloud user requests rescources of the vehicular cloud,the protocol still keeps messages secret and protects the privacy of the cloud user.In the simulation stage of the protocol,the results show that the protocol is effective and feasible.
