Rapid urbanization has caused problems such as incontrollable spatial morphology and decline of environment quality,while people's expecting for living quality is rising all the way.Urban microclimate which closely related to spatial morphology affects the comfort and quality of space directly.As an important part of urban microclimate,the wind environment impacts safety,healthy and comfortable much.This article tries to find out the appropriate form of urban residential district by quantitative analysis,so that the creation of comfortable and beautiful living space can be guided.This paper consists of 7 chapters.The frame of the subject is introduced briefly in Chapter 1.Relevant research is summarized in Chapter 2 and shows some deficiencies in geographical coverage and index selection.The existing study is hard for designers to practice,because their conclusions are not coverted to space language sufficiently.So this paper supplements and completes the research correctly.Then the research foundation,simulation method,parameter settings and the grid system is illustrated in Chapter 3,together with the evaluation method of this subject.In Chapter 4,five groups of controlled variable experiments are conducted by the tool of CFD simulation technology,in order to explore the changing rules between the basic form indexes and wind environment.By the help of multiple linear regression analysis,the regression equations of each index are established.Through additional experiments and statistical analysis,the changing rules between the composite form indexes and the wind environment are clarified.Finally,the relationships between each two are summarized and indexes are ranked by statistical weight.Till now the abstract wind-environmental indexes are converted to the spatial language which is easier for designers to understand and handle by means of experiments.The reliability of these conclusions is retested in Chapter 5 by analyzing two examples of Dongshankou and Tianhena which have different spatial characteristics.The target and several principles for optimization of urban residential district form are put forward in Chapter6,together with some specific optimization strategies:(1)High FAR within reasonable range;(2)Smaller residential block combined with urban ventilation corridors;(3)Row-layout is better than other building distributions;(4)Balance the average height and building density';(5)Make height difference in all direction;(6)The height-width ratio of outdoor space should be higher if possible.In the end,the achievements and deficiencies of this study are summarzed and some future prospects are mentioned as well.
