Construction And Application Of The Five-Spoke Wheel Meta Symbol Library

Most common methods of wheel form design is based on existing and fixed design process,the design results depend on the designer ' s experience accumulation and perceptual thinking process.That is tedious and time-consuming.Parametric design is an important trend of product design technology,but current parametric design software is too specialized that users need to spend a lot of time and energy to learn.And the interface design and operation mode of parametric design software fall short of designers' thinking characteristics and operating habits.We have bulit a relatively perfect Meta Symbol library of five-spoke wheel,simplified the operating process of parameterized design software and opened up a more simplified and intuitive way of wheel form design.We use the Meta Symbol theory and the method of Meta Symbol Design based on Parametric modeling and other related methods and techniques.First,we select the five-spokes wheel as the representative,dividing the wheel modeling module,and finding the wheel Complex Meta Symbol transform path;Then,based on the algorithm of Meta Symbol and parametric modeling techniques,we arithmetic to solve and paint the Complex Meta Symbol,and establish the 3d model.Finally we complete the establishment of the Meta symbol library and map the relationships between the libraries.Ultimately,we build a wheel form design platform by using the grasshopper software and its secondary development function,and use the interviefw method to verify the optimization and feasibility of this method.We have bulit a Meta Symbol library including massive wheel samples?wheel Meta Symbol figures and 3D model data.We set up the Bi-directional one to one?unidirectional one to many and so on mapping relation between the various libraries,based on the secondary development of parametric design software realize the wheel form design platform faced to designers.We can meet five transformation wheel hub modeling.Designers can design on the platform by choosing wheel Meta Symbols of different froms from the Meta Symbol library.By adjusting the data model from the library,the transformation of the wheel formand the final goal of the auxiliary designer is realized,it provide a new way and method for the wheel form design.And it is conform to the cognitive and operational characteristics of designers with the user's interactive experience consideration.It has reduced the design threshold and work intensity of designers,enhanced the design efficiency of the new product,realized the final goal of the assistant designer.
