A Study On Nuclear Power Business Development Strategy Of China General Nuclear Power Group

Based on the fully research of the relevant theories of enterprise strategic management,this thesis analyzed the relational external macro environment of CGN with PEST analysis model firstly,and analyzed the external environment of the nuclear industry with Porter's five forces model.Then CGN's internal resources and core competence are analyzed in this paper.Based on this formula,we summarized the external opportunities and threats,the internal strengths and weaknesses,found out the CGN's various alternative strategy by the SWOT matrix,and established the nuclear power industry development Strategy and strategic objectives of CGN.Finally,this thesis decomposed the strategic target of CGN by BSC,and put forward the guarantee and support measures for the strategy implementation process.From the point of external macro environment,CGN is facing development opportunity: we need to develop nuclear power because of the development of economic and social,the improvement of ecological environment,the adjustment of energy structure;nuclear power is the national foster strategic emerging industries;the international market space is broad;and the nuclear power industry enjoy the support of national policy.Also CGN is facing some challenges: after the fukushima nuclear accident the public acceptance for nuclear power is drop down;the slowing down of social power consumption growth and the reform of power market brings the large risk to electricity sold and price of nuclear power.The improvement of the nuclear safety standards increased the cost of the nuclear power enterprise;and nuclear power is facing the risk of being replaced by renewable clean energy in the future.From the point of internal conditions,the advantage of CGN displays in: being formed the enterprise culture with nuclear safety at the core and the complete nuclear safety management system;having the third generation nuclear power technology with independent intellectual property rights;having the excellent performance of nuclear power units and high level of operational management;and having rich experience in construction of nuclear power.The main disadvantage of CGN displays in: the risk of dilution of human resources and corporate culture brought by the rapid development of CGN;the lack of lean management;the nuclear fuel supply is at the mercy of the competitor.Based on the analysis of the external opportunities and challenges,as well as the internal advantages and disadvantages,the development strategy of CGN is proposed in this thesis.Finally,we decomposed the strategic target by BSC tool,and put forward the guarantee and support measures for the strategy implementation process in fund,human resource,organization,enterprise culture,etc.This thesis is of positive significance to actively cope with the adjustment of economic structure and the reform of electric power system.
