In recent years,with the development of technology and economy in our country,information technology has developed rapidly.Informatization construction of engineering project management has become a trend.However,modern project management is a process of sensible resource allocation include of five resources of people,machine,material,method and environment.Meanwhile,construction projects in our country is characterized with large construction scale,long construction period and complex construction technologies,which causes project information management of the enterprises in our country are always in a relatively backward level.Under the background of the refined social division of labor and rapid advance of construction management system reform in our country,the past extensive management mode cannot adapt to the requirement of today’s project management.How to master all kinds of he project information in a timely and effective manner,how to rapidly react to project information and problems for decision making,and how to fully and accurately grasp project plan,schedule,cost,risk,quality control and the allocation of resources for realizing the supervision and control of the total project life cycle,which play a vital role in improving project management,decreasing cost and increasing efficiency,enhancing competitiveness and customer satisfaction,preventing and guarding against all kinds of business risk.Firstly,this thesis analyzes the background and current situation of engineering project management informatization and discusses the necessity of engineering project management informatization.Secondly,this thesis expounds the relevant concepts and theory of engineering project management informatization,and introduces the functions and characteristics of project management information system with the application of commonly software.Thirdly,based on the theory,this thesis combs the management requirements analysis,system design and system development planning method,combined with the S company present management and information system situation to summarize the design,development,testing and application process of S company’s " PMO information cloud" for demonstrating how the information management system assist in scientific and reasonable project management for the engineering people in S company.Fourthly,the thesis elaborates the system advantage from four aspects of the big data and cloud computing,the multi-platform information sharing,early warning and decision aid and e-commerce and e-government,using the mathematical model to evaluate the application effect of S company’s "PMO information cloud" engineering management information system.Finally,based on the results of practical application and the insufficiency of the system engineering management informatization,this thesis summarizes the application and development prospects of project management information system.
