The building energy consumption is the major component of energy consumption,and the building energy conservation is necessary in solving energy problems.In China,public building energy consumption occupies larger proportion of the building energy consumption,the overall energy consumption per unit area in public buildings is over two times higher than that in residential buildings.With the rapid development of economy and urbanization,the number of public buildings is bound to increase.Therefore,it is imperative to analyze the energy consumption level and energy consumption characteristics of public buildings.In this paper,100 public buildings in Tianjin are selected as the object of study,including government office,hospital,cultural and sports,and school buildings.The basic information and energy consumption data of the buildings have been investigated.The insulation performance of the building envelope construction is different.Only 40%of the buildings have been installed with external insulation on building exterior.The common glass is used as window material in 52%of the building.What's more,almost all buildings have no external shading facilities.Energy-saving retrofitting on the existing public building in Tianjin is an important way to reduce the building energy consumption.Based on the energy consumption data,the comprehensive energy consumption per unit area of government office,hospital,cultural and sports,and school buildings varies from 16.86 to 321.93kWh/(m~2·a);from 85.84 to 262.09kWh/(m~2·a)and from 40.01 to215.56kWh/(m~2·a);from 25.61 to 101.01kWh/(m~2·a),respectively.By using the quartile method,the constraint values and boot values of power consumption per unit area,energy consumption per unit heating area,and comprehensive energy consumption per unit area of public buildings in Tianjin are put forward.In order to further study the energy consumption characteristics of public buildings,the office building which accounted for the largest proportion of this survey is taken as an example to analyze.By using DeST-c,a standard model of office building is established and its energy consumption is simulated.It is found that the air conditioning and heating systems are the main component of office building energy consumption,which is an important starting point of building energy saving work.The simulation results are consistent with the investigation results.
