With the rapid development of urbanization, huge changes have happ ened in China. As a key link, public transportation plays a determining role in the availability within this area and the efficiency of citizens' travel to a large degree. Therefore,we must pay attention to this to explore more efficient model.Currently the traditional transit in rural area is of a fixed schedule and route, which has been unable to adapt to the increasingly flexible travel demand of rural residents.City area keeps expanding wit h the new cities constructed,so it's difficult for the traditional bus to arrange its route and stations in a perfect way within a short time.Along with the old city reconstruction and extension project, many area residents' travel OD change frequently, but the traditional transportation mode can hardly respond to these changes swiftly. This paper will first describe the concept of demand responding transit system and its basic theory.Based on the thorough study of existing related literature at home and abroad, the paper dig into a new bus system to adapt to the current urbanization progress of our country.By analyzing the current situation of traffic demand in rural areas of our country and referring to the successful cases of foreign countries,I will discuss the feasibility of DRTS in rural areas. With the analysis of the traffic situation in urban areas of China at hand,I will further discuss the feasibility of the implementation of this scheme in the urban areas. In order to solve the problem of co ngestion in urban areas, the paper discusses how to improve the efficiency of traffic and how to ensure the smooth implementation of DRTS.After the study,I found that compared with the traditional transit,we should adopt a mode that can combine existing short distance passenger transport with the SRTS in urban and rural area in an appropriate way.The urban area should also select the appropriate operation mode to share passenger pressure and ease traffic congestion of the city. With the advancement of information technology, the demand-oriented bus system will become an important form of the traditional bus transit.
