Application Research Of Participatory Design In Rural Resettlement Community Planning & Design

In the process of urbanization,it seems to have become a synonym for rural resettlement community that poor quality,poor environment and poor service,more and more people don't want to move into new communities,"hard to relocate" has been a social phenomenon.Compared to urban community,it is quite distinctive of rural commuinty planning and design,such as the limited cost,the major group of farmers,the weak ties with city,etc.Although the reasons are varide,in the perspective of architecture,it is relative importance,that designers didn't cmoperhend the requirement of stakeholders.The paper start with the participant willingness of stakeholders,discussed the advantage of participatory design that used into rural resettlement community,as well as how to apply participatory design to rural resettlement community.It is mainly divided into three steps to analyse the problem,firstly,based on comparison of the research results both at home and abroad,the paper analysed the lack of this area in China,it can't fully consider the needs of stakeholders,whether "top-down" mode or "bottom-up" mode about community planning and design.Secondly,based on the analysis of participation and contradiction of rual resettlement community in China,the papaer adjusted the main points of participatory design to meet the actual situation,put forward the equal distribution of power and modular design idea.Thirdly,based on design practice,the paper verified this method,this planning and design way that with demand as guidance did be supported by inhabitants,represented as community cohesion was significantly higher than that the other communities,participant willingness had been markedly improved.Applied participatory design in the rural resettlement community,not only satisfy demand,but also played important role in the emerging about community attachment,responsibility and identity.The paper systematically discussed participatory design applied to the rural resettlement community,and got some achievements.From the view of sociology,it improved the level of participation and relieved some contradiction of resettlement;from the view of environmental,it avoeded the waste of resources and realized the sustainable development;from the view of architectural,it partly satisfied the needs of living and designed a community with rural characteristics,that could be used for the rural resettlement community in China.
