Study On Enric Miralles's Architectural Form Generating Methods For Topography

In the contemporary Chinese architectural context,the rise of regional architecture makes the relationship between architecture and nature becomes increasingly important.However,due to the lack of theoretical research,the majority of building form only stays as the simple imitation of nature.To pursuit visual effects,the internal logic of architecture and topography are ignored,which led to the light characteristics of urban architecture.The building cannot exist independently from topography.The paper takes Enric Miralles' s architecture as the analysing object,and conducts researches on Enric Miralles' s architectural form generating methods for topography.The relationship between architecture and landform is the most valuable thing in Miralles' s architecture,it seems that the building is rooted in landform directly.In this paper,the object of study is Miralles' s architectural form methods for topography.Through the collection of design works and published articles by Miralles,the paper uses graphic to analyze his design works,and takes topography theory,landscape theory,aesthetic theory as theoretical foundation,then explore the associativities and differences between his design works and the landform.Finally,the paper summarizes the topographical form generating methods which have characteristics of Miralles' s architecture and have inspiration for contemporary Chinese architectural design.It starts from the characteristics of topography,constituent elements,and form operating methods,to summarize Miralles' s design methods and modus operandi;The operating methods of Miralles' s topography-oriented form are divided into three parts,including the generation of complex plans,the elimination of organic architectural forms,and the generation of indigenous constructions.The paper excavats Miralles' s regional transmission by comparing his architecture with RCR and mansilla+tunon arquitectos' architecture and explore the inspiration of Miralles' s architecture in contemporary Chinese architectural context by analyzing EMBT's architectural practices in China.Finally,the paper summarizes Miralles' s topography-oriented architectural form generating methods in an architecture design,and expecting having ideological guidance and application value in how to establish connections between architecture and topography.
