Floating ring bearings are widely popular in automotive turbochargers due to its special advantages in respect of double oil films,low wear,high load capacity,low friction,smooth operation,high efficiency,easy to manufacture etc.The impact of wear on floating ring bearings is always ignored on the study of lubrication properties of floating ring bearings.In fact,the surface of floating ring bearings can't be completely smooth.With different bearing work environment,the state of wear and lubrication of static characteristics of floating ring bearing is not the same.So,it is vital of significance to study the effect of the wear of bearing and the lubrication static characteristics of bearing.In this paper,the theoretical model of floating ring bearings under different wear condition is based on the Reynolds equation and random rough model proposed by H.Christensen.Then the finite difference method is adopted to solve the problems.Through theoretical analysis,the oil film thickness,the oil film pressure distribution,as well as the lubrication static characteristics of floating ring bearings are obtained.The researches on the floating ring bearings under different wear condition are also performed in this paper.The influences of different wear conditions on the lubrication static characteristics of bearing are studied.The results show that at the same speed situation the oil film support capacity and the frictional power consumption will increase with the increase of the wear degree,but the end leakage flow-rate will reduce.And at the same wear degree the oil film support capacity,the frictional power consumption and the end leakage flow-rate will increase with the increase of the speed situation.In this paper,a comparatively complete method is presented to analyze the lubrication static characteristics of the floating ring bearing,this method enrich the theory of the wear of the floating ring bearing,and it can provide a theoretical basis.
