As one of core components of smart ammeters,magnetic latching relay has the advantages of low energy consumption,small size,high reliability with security and other advantages which can switch power source intelligently.Not only many relay manufacturers choose the magnetic latching relay,but also it is the focus of the power companies.According to the theory of mechanics and nonlinear finite element method,a model of multibody system on the base of rigid flexible combination was established in magnetic latching relay by 3D modeling software Pro/ENGINEER and finite element analysis software ABAQUS.The model of mutibody system was simulated,and the analysis of static and dynamic were given,and the simulation results were verified by experiments.Finally,the influence of geometric parameters on the mechanical properties of the main components was studied.The influence of geometric parameters on the main parts of magnetic latching relay about the mechanical properties was also analyzed.The dimension of each part was measured accurately by using three coordinate measuring instrument.The 3D solid model of each part of the magnetic latching relay was established by using 3D modeling software Pro/ENGINEER.Without affecting the simulation calculation results,the characteristics of the model were simplified and ignored appropriately.The contact system of magnetic latching relay was simulated by the analysis of static.Then the Pro/ENGINEER model was imported into software ABAQUS.The definition of material properties,selection of element type,technology of mesh division,definition of boundary condition,and establishment of finite element model were studied in detail,non-convergence problems were solved in the simulation analysis by adding binding constraints.The counterforce characteristics of spring and split-flow sheet in magnetic latching relay was studied.And the simulation was verified reliably and correctly by comparing with the results of finite element analysis and experimental tests.Further more,the multibody system of magnetic latching relay was simulated by the analysis of dynamic.Push rod and other parts of the contact system were added and assembled.According to the actual situation of motion and force,the definition of constraint condition,load and boundary condition were defined,and the motion analysis process was also set up.Then the modeling of the magnetic latching relay was imported into in ABAQUS.Structural modal analysis was studied on the main components in order to obtain the frequency and vibration mode.The displacement and velocity characteristics of magnetic latching relay in the breaking process were analyzed by explicit dynamic finite element method.Finally,the simulation data were analyzed and summarized.The parameter of measuring driving ability was the maximum strain energy of the spring and split-flow sheet.The effects of geometric parameters on the stiffness and driving capability was investigated.And at last,the orthogonal optimization experiment was used to determine the most important factors affecting the stiffness of split-flow sheet.This paper provided a design method for improving of the magnetic latching relay and the development of new products,which was of great significance for the development of high performance magnetic latching relay.
