Research On The Design Strategy Of Folding In Modern Architecture

In the 20 th century,the social way of thinking experienced a change from functionalism to criticism,people's subjective initiative has been continuously improved in the process of social development,and the methods of architectural design have also been changed,resulting in forms such as modernism and deconstructionism.The development of architecture began to become more complicated and diversified.In this social context,from the point of view of folding architecture,this paper studies folding as a design strategy to solve the complexity of architecture,interprets the folded architecture from both theoretical and practical perspectives,and explores the deeper connotation behind its morphology.Finally,the design techniques and the results of folding in modern architecture are summarized.This article introduces the related background and theoretical support of folding and elaborated the inevitability of folding construction,analyzing the promotion of social environment for the development of folding architecture,and proposes the practical significance of studying folding architecture: the complex combination of functional and spiritual functions of the architecture is created through the folding technique,which forms a kind of architectural design pattern with diversity and complexity.In the second part of the article,the author discusses the generative logic of the folding architecture and summarizes the concrete application strategies.In the third part of the thesis,this paper analyzes the operation process of these techniques in architecture construction and the types of architectural space that can be generated by folding by studying folding methods(such as decomposition,tensile,compression,torsion,crisscross,weaving,etc.).On this basis,the fourth chapter combines the folding elements with the main concerns of architectural design from the perspectives of space,interface,form,environment and digitization.Provides a unique perspective for architects to provide a unique approach at the beginning of the design.Research in folding is a kind of thinking of the diversity of contemporary architecture.The folding architecture becoming a form of expressionism can be avoided with the in-depth discussions on the logic in disorder in architecture.This paper summarizes the design concept of interior and exterior space of architecture,which intends to give some impetus to the innovation of architectural design to some extent.
