Research On Residential Function Renewaldesign Of Residential Control-protected Building In Suzhou Ancient City

There are more than 160 residential control-protected buildings which is a big part of250 control-protected buildings including in the ancient city of Suzhou.This kind of building which is an important part of ancient Suzhou city made up the city structure of Suzhou with traditional house.Compared with traditional houses in the City,residential control-protected building shows an explicit characteristic of courtyard-to-courtyard with larger size of building and exquisite decoration.These buildings are almost the magistrate's or rich businessman's private residence in the Ming and Qing Dynasties,embodies the traditional dwellings in Suzhou historical and artistic value,the essence of traditional dwellings in Suzhou.Suzhou government focus on long-term protection of traditional architecture.In 1982 the State Department announced the first batch of national historical and cultural city.As an opportunity,a number of control-protected building's protection projects was expand,including the residential control-protected buildings.From 1980 to 2000,the government led the protect.After 2000,the private enterprises led the projects instead.These projects with different background and characteristics,providing valuable experience for the protection of Suzhou control-protected buildings,but also reflects many problems.Because of the ancient city has a large amount of control-protected buildings with the lack of government funds,most residential control-protected buildings are not properly protected,not to mention the positive utilization.Therefore,Suzhou needs a new way to protect the ancient city and the residential control-protected buildings,which can make full use of social resources and conducive to long-term protection.Focus on the economic benefits and the traditional culture at the same time.This paper summarizes the problems of different periods of control-protected buildings update projects,and considering the space rules of the residential control-protected buildings.At the end,put forward a new protect way that protect the building in a unit within a complete courtyard,and renew the residential control-protected buildings as commercial housing.
