Study On Foreign Investment Risk In Laos Hydropower Station Construction

In recent years,Laos has stepped up its efforts to develop hydropower resources,and has put forward the important goal of building "Southeast Asian battery" to bring new research content to foreign investment in hydropower stations in Laos.Laos has abundant hydropower natural resources.There are more than 20 rivers in the country,such as the main stream and tributaries of the Mekong River.The runoff is long and the gap is large,which brings opportunities for the construction of Lao hydropower stations.With huge investment funds,long construction and operation cycles and weak economic foundation in Laos,it is necessary to attract foreign investment to carry out construction together.This paper analyzes the current construction situation of Lao’s national hydropower station,studies the foreign investment model,analyzes and evaluates the investment risk,and selects a reasonable foreign investment model based on the analysis of the multiple data and resources of foreign investment in Thailand,China,Vietnam,South Korea,Japan,Russia and other countries,so as to create a healthy environment for foreign investment,link the country’s reality with international and enterprise cooperation,and comprehensively promote the further development of the Lao economy.In this paper,the Lao foreign investment model and investment risk are systematically analyzed and studied from various aspects.Find out the shortcomings of the foreign investment model for hydropower resources construction in Laos,and analyze the risks of investment in Laos in detail.It is suggested that negotiations with the Lao government should be intensified to provide a reliable political basis for the construction of hydropower stations,attach importance to the implementation of policies,improve the construction of laws and regulations in Laos,create a healthy investment environment in Laos,and reasonably safeguard the rights and interests of foreign investors and the state.Emphasis will be placed on strengthening the training of personnel for investment and construction management of hydropower stations,and training professional and senior management personnel in the light of the national conditions,so as to provide a steady stream of talents for the development of the Lao hydropower industry.Improve the construction of basic service projects,provide a good basic environment for foreign investment,and promote the further development of the electric power industry.Detailed analysis of Lao investment risk factors,establishment of an investment risk prevention and control system,protection of the interests of Lao government,people and foreign investors,all-round promotion of hydropower resources,calmly coping with the increasingly changing economic and political environment at home and abroad,and providing a solid and reliable basic economic guarantee for Lao’s national development.
