Bridge engineering,as a complex infrastructure, had buried potential risks in the initial design stage.this potential danger would gradually emerge, once a safety accident occurred,it would be accompanied by serious economic losses and casualties, causing adverse social impact.BIM(Building Information Modeling)technology could be applied in helping designers to carry out more scientific and intuitive construction organization design, providing extremely sufficient data support and information, and identifying the potential dangers in bridge engineering, thus to avoiding the side-effect of subjective decision-making of people on the project.Based on the safety concept of risk control, this paper relied on the construction of the cut-off flag bridge, applying the building information model to the application analysis of the actual project. On the basis of summarizing the characteristics of BIM technology and the risk of bridge engineering, the paper explored the advantages of BIM technology in auxiliary bridge engineering design, construction management and management risk analysis, concluding that BIM technology was feasible in applying in bridge engineering risk.Taking the risk management and "BIM+" concept in to consideration, using BIM and combining the relevant technologies of current intelligent digital construction, this paper proposed a universal approach to the life cycle of bridge engineering, and established a BIM-based bridge life cycle risk management model.Compared with the traditional risk management model, this model displayed more digital information, which couldn give full play to the advantages of BIM technology collaborative management on the risk management and control level.BIM software was used to complete the integration of the initial topography and geomorphology of the project area, and the three-dimensional digital model of the cut-off flag bridge was established. The initial design was reviewed, and the safety defects in the design stage were found and subsequently initial design was modified.Based on this, the three-dimensional simulation of the construction process was carried out,and countermeasures were proposed for risk management and digitalinformation management in the subsequent actual construction process.
