The rapid development of urbanization disturbed original hydrological cycle of the area,and increased the number of flood,many cities have suffered serious urban waterlogging disasters.As the discharge terminal of urban storm water drainage system,river undertakes responsibilities such as absorb runoff rainwater,maintain the ecological environment of the city,offer space for public activity and so on.With the widely spread of "sponge city" construction,increasingly attention was paid to LID in the application of urban rain flood management.Through the rainwater collection,infiltration,filtration and detention,LID can not only reduce flood disaster risk and conducive to the restoration and protection of waterfront ecological environment,but also make contribution to the construction of waterfront landscape ecological security pattern for city.The paper discusses the significance and feasibility of the concept,which is based on the background,concept,characteristics,principles and technical types of LID.At the same time,the paper summarizes the design methods and points of LID in the waterfront landscape design.And with the domestic and foreign LID theory and classical project.The author will take Mulanxi river design as a case,to explore the landscape design practice in low impact development under the guidance of the concept may be provided to achieve the greatest degree of eco hydrological waterfront landscape value,and to provide reference for the application of low impact development concept in the actual landscape design project.
