The Space Fragmentation Phenomenon And Its Governance Strategies In The Old Urban District Of Suzhou Based On The Context Of Overall Protection

Since China's reform and opening up,large and medium-sized cities have launched a vigorous urban renewal activities,which has promoted the rapid changes of the functions and spatial forms of the historical urban areas,and thus generated the phenomenon of space fragmentation.In 40 years of rapid development,the space fragmentation of the Old Urban District of Suzhou has become prominent.Based on the definition of space fragmentation and the review of related research progress,this paper deconstructs the space fragmentation of Old Suzhou Urban District from the three dimensions of texture,style and place,and explores the characteristics and roots of it.Firstly,this paper analyzes the dialectical relationship between holistic conservation and fragmentation based on the relevant research progress of fragmentation and holistic conservation.By sorting out the spatial evolution process and overall protection status quo of the Old Urban District of Suzhou,for that the space of the Old Urban District of Suzhou is comprehensively recognized.As the current challenges of fragmentation in the process of development and protection of the Old Urban District of Suzhou are described,it is fluent to lay a certain theoretical and practical basis for the spatial fragmentation evolution of the Old Urban District of Suzhou.Secondly,based on the spatial type of the Old Urban District of Suzhou,the whole picture of the fragmentation is recognized from different dimensions.Then,deconstruction is used to seek the level and correlation of space fragmentation.From the three dimensions of texture,style and place,the expression characteristics of space fragmentation in Old Urban District are extracted and summarized.On the basis of analyzing contradictions and conflicts caused by the space fragmentation,it is believed that the fragmentation implies the risks faced by the cultural protection and inheritance of the Old Urban District.Finally,by combining with the study on the space fragmentation of the Old Urban District of Suzhou,this paper seeks for the countermeasures to governance the space fragmentation.It is suggested that respect the differences and needs,promote the space justice and flow,integrate the protection into contemporary life,which should be the foothold for the Old Urban District of Suzhou to face the space fragmentation.
