Suzhou Pingjiang historical and cultural district is the most complete,the most typical,the most historical and cultural protection area of suzhou water town.The district has maintained a parallel water and land,river street adjacent to the double checkerboard pattern.Waterfront node space of different sizes is formed at the junction of water lane and land road.Waterfront node space within the block is an important public space for people to carry out various communication activities.With the acceleration of urbanization,people’s lifestyle has undergone earth-shaking changes.In recent years,the ancient city of suzhou government made a series of blocks within the scope of protection practice,but lack of waterfront space nodes built environment after using evaluation research,and the real demand of users on the waterfront node lack of consideration,the above problems to some extent,reflects the waterfront node space built environment evaluation after the lack of research.Based on the needs of users,this paper conducts POE(Post-Occupancy Evaluation)on the waterfront space of the Pingjiang historical and cultural district in Suzhou,conducts in-depth research on the space-building environment of each waterfront node,and understands the real needs of users,and builds a quantitative evaluation model.Summarize existing problems and propose targeted optimization strategies.Firstly,explain the background of the research and the concepts and descriptions of waterfront node space,POE and other related concepts are defined,the current status of POE evaluation research at home and abroad is expounded,and the POE related theory and evaluation research methods are sorted out,which provides theoretical support and method guidance for this research.Secondly,introduce the basic situation of Suzhou Pingjiang cultural and historic District,and the waterfront space of this study is extracted.Based on the relevant knowledge of environmental behavior and the basic methods of POE research,the characteristics of the use of waterfront nodes and the types of behavioral activities qualitative analysis and summarization of the characteristics;refining the components of the waterfront space environment,selecting 21 indicators of environmental factors,artificial material environmental elements and social and cultural environmental elements to construct POE quantification of waterfront node space.The evaluation model is used to carry out hierarchical fuzzy comprehensive evaluation of the waterfront node built environment.Based on the quantitative evaluation data,the status quo and causes of the waterfront space in the neighborhood are analyzed in depth.Finally,based on the evaluation results,the optimization strategy of optimizing the node space structure,enriching node elements,mining node history and culture,etc.based on the overall environment of the block and strengthen the "low satisfaction-high expectation" factors and selective optimization the "high satisfaction-low expectation " factors,etc.which is described as an evaluation strategy based on an evaluation factor.Combined with the actual situation of each node,the proposed optimization strategy is applied to the waterfront node space selected in this paper.
